People love having a spot in their game they can make their own. The house in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is easily one of the most popular parts of the module. At least that's my impression from reddit, review articles, session recap blogs and my own group. People like the idea of a headquarters, a pla...

As I admitted in "5e has failed" I've embraced/resigned myself to it's use.

Would anyone who's been using it be willing to distill/share their basic tweaks/additions/improvements?

Any standard gear or bonuses you hand out at the start?

I will admit I have thrown away my ... standards basically, and embraced the use of 5e.

At the very least I'm enjoying the art and the character books like Volo and XGE. :/

TLDR; My life is too busy to fight against the tide, at least the pictures are pretty.

I haven't found a robust markdown to bbcode conversion library in my searches, btw.

I've had to ammend the one I did find to include some common TGD tags.

I've actually inquired about helping to transition the boards to a modern open source forum but haven't made much headway. >_>

Less a request, more a curiosity.

Why was Ravenloft 3e published by a third party?

Most providers provide domains with free SSL now, afaik.

Largely because Let's encrypt exists now.

Definitely on a track iike, as well.
I've always thought adventure-necessary skills (fightiness, perceptiwarification) should auto level with you to some degree.

Any news on the AS2 front of late? Sadly no. I haven't really been doing any writing of all of late. I've been working sixty hour weeks and we're in the middle of a refurbishment project on the house. I haven't even been getting to Friday Night Magic, let alone doing any real writing. I feel bad ab...

Unless it's all melee combat, better hope the smuggler stays a smuggler. They're probably the only one that can do anything else useful. Eh, force powers fix a lot of problems. I ended up rejigging some fears after getting another one by dipping into Jedi Weaponmaster before Jedi Master. Then shuff...

d20 SWRE Jedi build help

Yes, the ancient d20 Star Wars Revised Edition xD I'm hoping to get some build advice for level 9. For both a Jedi Guardian and Jedi Consular. [hr] The Long-Short: I'm in a one-shot with some of my favorite people, but I've never actually played the damn system. (Despite owning the core book for ......

Re: The immutable sacred commandments of D&D are...

So what are the elements of D&D that must be in a new edition, lest the fans revolt? [snip] The "necessary elements" are determined by some unknown alchemical formula: you can remove almost anything, but you can't remove everything at the same time. You can remove vancian casting, you...

I feel like a reasonable litmus test would be a character converter for the new addition. Can I reasonably Port my favorite character from X previous edition to this edition? This excludes 4th edition. Because that is wholly incompatible with previous incarnations of the game. How "accurate,&qu...

Here's a thing: What's the secondhand market value on ships? This question applies to ships of any size, fighters up to capital ships. Because it's generally pretty easy for players to get a hold of extra ships from people they kill, and once everyone has their own ship, you sorta just sell off the...

DDB seems to be backed by Curse, not WotC specifically.

Stealing Imperial ships has been the focus of at least one storyline for the early rebel fleet.

But SW:Rebels actually shows the early rebellion building up its own custom fleet as well.

Critical Role is a bunch of voice actors streaming their D&D game on Wil Wheaton's gaming channel. They're more watchable than most tabletop gaming streams because they're all professional performers. I haven't seen the video, but I assume CR is 'saving' D&D by being the most visible promot...
