I was being nice and assuming a high fantasy point buy for the poor Monk. Lower point buys only further screw over all beatsticks, especially Monks. Edit: I was honestly at a loss for my casters in Pathfinder. You can max out your casting stat on the lowest PB, so after getting Con up to 14 or 16 yo...

Just out grapple him with your hair at level 5. Doesn't matter what your school is, you just need the hair spell prepared (twice, just in case). Stats: Max out int, who cares what else. Items: Int item, don't care about anything else. Race: Human for the feat. Feats: SF (transmutation), Varisian Tat...

You're right, the wand thing does kind of mean you just start with a fucking magic item. Holy shit... the devs are that inept? The bonded object is already the best low level option, why make it even BETTER by being free swag? At high levels it's still good, but wtf are they doing giving blank check...

You are only assumed to have the appropriate crafting feat for your arcane bond object, it doesn't become magic for free. It does become magic for half price, but that's just pathfinder thinking casters want a half-price amulet (or robe, sorcs should always choose the fucking robe). Silly pathfinder...

I completely forgot to mention an important part. He takes criticism VERY poorly. He threatened to pack up and go home once because somebody went to some boards to talk about what to do with the campaign (he asked if modules were really as hard as our campaign was). The DM found it and went off on a...

We have not kicked him out and I have not left for a few reasons: 1. He isn't kicked out because he's a close friend of one member of the group and friends with the other two (including me). Outside of the game he's a good guy, but inside the game he is insufferable. 2. He brings a lot of things to ...

At least you got a great campaign from him 4 years ago. This guy was just complete ass. It wasn't houserules or anything, just him having no idea what fun is. When he's the DM he likes fights to be really close (and thus likes seeing the PCs drop at least once per combat), but when he's a character ...

The DM: A story of Fear, Sadness and Editions.
Like every good story, this one starts with a simple fact: Some people do not like to lose. This person did not like to lose anything, whether it was the spotlight as a character or a fight as the DM. I saw this person claim impossible hits on the player side (I watched his dice due to a long histor...

But there's four people in the party. The guy in front is feeling up the walls and such, the guy behind him is staring straight ahead unblinkingly. different levels of awareness would be neat, but having each party member be on a different level would then be optimal unless one level sucks, like bei...

Edit (to keep my perfect editing track record): I am responding so Shadzar, not the reasonable post above my own. Ok, so unless I declare that I'm breathing my character is not? That's seems kind of silly. Looking for traps when your character should obviously be looking for traps is insane. Unless ...

Fuck you. It's useless against anyone with reach automatically (you provoke for everything that isn't the first square). It's only useful if you are blind and adjacent to a monster without reach (or are a square away per 5'ft of reach the monster has), but you still move half-speed while blind and t...

If any of you actually used mini's Disengaging Feint weird corner case application would have been obvious. Because just like 3.5, the Pathfinder Withdraw only means that the first square you leave is not threatened. So it's spending a feat to be able to make and opposed check to withdraw against e...

I lurked here for a bit, I think I found you guys because of some link on gitp or something like that. The posts here are much more entertaining, and it has sufficiently few posters that most of the people are contributing something meaningful (even if that something is just snark) or easily ignored...

Even nerfed power attack? Damn, Pathfinder is a total wizard wank edition. As a Pathfinder player I feel I need to defend the system... No way, a Wizard can only be impossible to surprise and get +9 to init without any Dex investment at all before spells in the core rulebook for Pathfinder. Fuck yo...
