Re: Matrix RPG?

@Harshax: I'm not necessarily invested in Mage. I actually don't think it's a good fit for Matrix stuff beyond broad generalities and vaguely similar philosophy stuff. It's just a mutual language we can use to discuss things like the Matrix resisting hacking and agents responding. Re: Factions- ther...

Re: Matrix RPG?

Once reality is malleable couldn’t you use Frank’s cyber deck rules with shadow run, feng shui with magic, or as you say quantum bears. It just seems an RPG in the Matrix is just one stat 2d6 and anything goes when I hit the TN. EDIT: … because the gun-fu of Matrix isn’t even a requirement, when yo...

Re: Matrix RPG?

Honestly, I'm thinking a bit more like the Animatrix, and especially Kid's Story and World Record. Which, admittedly, are more prelude stories for characters, but they speak a bit more to what I'm interested in a Matrix RPG. Specifically World Record, with the whole pushing beyond physical limits th...

Matrix RPG?

So... lets say your group wanted to play a game set in the world(s) of the Matrix movies (et al). Because you're all nerdy and or queers. I have a friend who has a big metaphorical hard on for using Mage with some refluffing for it, but I feel like that's more of a feel/philosophy with guns match th...

Re: Annoying Questions I'd Like Answered...

Generally, yeah, but this job is... odd. There is literally no end time, even projected, for any of my shifts. Just start times.

Re: Annoying Questions I'd Like Answered...

Currently, I work for a company that does inventory services for other companies. Each shift has a meet time and start time (which could be the same time for jobs in town, or different times for those out of town because we have company vans). But shifts have no set end time. Beyond the law that say...

Good lord, why? Do people want good sex rules, or do they really want funny sex rules?
I would argue those are the same thing.

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

Cha would be dirty talk, teasing, appealing to senses beyond touch, basically. The kind of person who can get their lover off barely touching them.

I kinda want to do more class analogous, though. The warlock stuff would be fun

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

Honestly, that makes sense. Even I struggle to believe there could be enough (meaningful) Feats and class abilities to cover 20 levels. Even with 5e's "one feat every four levels"

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

Well, I wasn't thinking about parallel to Str, Dex, et al. I was thinking you have your main character sheet, and then you have your mini game stats that have stuff based on your race and class that are specific to the mini game, and instead of trying to decide between, ok, for example, Two Weapon F...

Re: Have there ever been good sex rules for D&D?

Yeah, like I said, I'm thinking of just translating combat wholesale, and then doing some tweaks and relabeling. So I'd say a sex round is one minute, and you're, essentially, trying to reduce your partner's fuck points to 0, at which point they orgasm. Or your own, if you're a selfish lover. If you...

Re: Have there ever been good sex rules for D&D?

My group is talking about the idea of a smutty d&d game and how sex would work, and I think, at least for d&d, and maybe specifically 5e, just translating the combat system and relabeling things would generally work. Sure, there's the issue of Diplomacy, but any group that has mind caulked D...

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

What do people think of parallel stats? Like you have your main character, but then you also have a second set of stats for a mini game that uses the same systems and traits but is separate so you don't have to choose between being good at the main game and being good at the mini game?

Have there ever been good sex rules for D&D?

Of the three-ish fuck rules systems* I've seen for D&D, they are all interminable slogs of rules seemingly written by people people who get aroused by trying to have complex high simulation rules. They suck. Are there any rules for boinking in D&D that were written "cuz sex is funny and...

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

One of the not-particularly-50s-Americana-based setting aspects is going to be socialist trucker convoys*, so CB radio was definitely a thing in mind. *I haven't messed with the timeline before the nuclear exchange too much, but I did tinker with the midwest a bit, having socialism stick around more...

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

If the Insurance Capital of the World still stands, you're not playing Mad Max. If the global communication network is primarily intact, a world of isolated groups who struggle to survive isn't particularly likely. You might be right that some areas are not directly irradiated and might not have be...

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

Ok, point taken, but that supports my previous post. It would stand to reason that there were likely multiple missile silos in Wyoming, as the least populated state. But even if there were, the blast radius of an RDS-37 (the most recently developed nuke of the Soviets in 1960, also the largest they ...

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

Why Canada? There's a ton of the US that is flyover country still, and there was even more in the 50s and 60s. Even if you posit that the Soviets bothered to target the Wyoming National Guard Base in Capser with an RDS-37, that still leaves most of Wyoming not significantly nuked. And the Soviets on...

Well, and as much as a part of my brain wants to know "what would really happen," ultimately, I'm working on "Mad Max-style adventure, except the 50s is the 'most recent pop culture era'." Saying "the nukes destroyed the entire Northern Hemisphere as we know it, and seriousl...

Re: Annoying Questions I'd Like Answered...

How do pain killers work, such that there is some pain that they just won't do anything about? Eg, I've injured my back. Aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen are all doing nothing for the pain. Even 1500mg of acetaminophen is doing nothing. Now, maybe the issue is in not taking the right pain killer...

Re: Annoying Game Questions You Want Answered

Ok, so I figure y'all might be able to help me with something I've so far been mostly unable to work out on my own.
