Many excellent ideas are offered up in this thread, but nothing can change the fact that in D&D high-level gaming fighters are all but useless for the reasons elucidated,and no amount of tinkering/house-ruling will change that.If you really enjoy your 3.5 fighter,stay with low to mid level gamin...
