I don't even know if this is sarcastic or not because I would legit be fine with magic anti-air archers coming online at the same tier/cr/whatever that flying archers start hitting the battlefield in threatening numbers.

Sure, a division of Vrocks would be crazy dangerous, with teleport to instantly get to long range and accurate long range SLAs, but if you can field significant numbers of CR 9 monsters, you should be winning most fights against mundane troops. Yeah, I doubt you'll find much push back against that ...

Yeah, country music that appeals specifically to smart ass non-fans peaked during the '70s and '80 because that's when you had a bunch of artists who were just self-aware enough to realize they were very nearly parodies of their forebearers but not so self-aware that they could sober up long enough ...

long line of pro imperialist propaganda Yeah, the only thing I appreciate about JAG is that that its flamboyant awfulness convinced me that mainstream propaganda was a thing even though I was very young and extremely stupid when that show debuted. I swear even the horn section in that show was tran...

If the base game has the necessary changes to incorporate the concept of a flight ceiling that is one thing, but adjusting or adding in such fundamental changes for a mass battle game system isn't for me. Then why limit that to the domains minigame? Why is the D&D fighter still pretty much fucked when in normal combat he needs to face a flying ranged enemy? The issue of the D&D Fighter is that they need to have a ranged attack. That has always been the case and will always be the case. The 4...

@maglag https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/012/491/a13.jpg Look, I get it. Realism gets unduly shat upon by many gamers. Discarding verisimilitude shouldn't be done lightly because anything that makes intuitive sense to the players is one less thing you need to explain and hash out as...

Meaning that a Street Samurai needs to also be a hacker or also be a face or whatever. -Username17 Yeah, SR4 samurai min-max boils down to accepting that anything that only increases your combat numbers needs to be looked at with great suspicion. In any case, setting the number of attacks too low encourages abandoning any other strategy and ganking the boss with a couple of summoned monsters and disregarding every other possible strategy. That's really only a glaring issue if you're unwilling to let combatants that are in over their heads f...

Perhaps they saw it as role protection for cybernetics? Shadowrun seems to want a mood of "power at SOME cost" but having super ninja powers without having to go through flesh and essence shredding surgery dampens that. Perhaps that became a concern in later revisions but I'd note that a ...

Why did they worry so much about that happening? My theory is that a lot of the people who were interested in hunting down '90s era D&D alternatives did so precisely because they didn't want to dungeon crawl anymore and felt that it was important to discourage people from trying to solve every ...

(no social safety net for the elderly, etc). There are demonstrably libertarians and conservatives out there who dism...

I disagree. Once firefights break out you move a lot searching out sight lines. It really depends on the difficulty level. On Normal and Classic you have a fair amount of freedom to flank and such but on Impossible the spawns can be dense enough that things can snowball on you extremely quickly if ...

I think it's one of those areas where it's better to eyeball things and maybe attach some general notes to relevant factions that may exist in your campaign. For example, in Shadowrun I like to tag various groups that exist in my campaign world with a few thematic keywords and a range of professiona...

I've found Ernest Scared Stupid fares well with 8 year olds but can be a bit intense for weenier 4 year olds. Compared to Tremors though I'd think it would be fine.
