Re: Druids make me cry - AKA WotC can't write rules

As I said, I've never found the spell "unbelievably complex". None of the things you mention gives me any pause.[br][br]Difficult to adjudicate? The only things I've ever encountered as legitimate adjudication problems are a) whether it counts as a size increase, and b) the confusion that ...

Re: Third-Party D&D Books

I was sad to see Dawnforge disappear off their radar. It's one of the few published settings that has ever actually captured my imagination.

Re: Druids make me cry - AKA WotC can't write rules

I don't know about that. I've never had any difficulties using the 3.5 alter self, polymorph, or shapechange.

Re: Complete Mage Critique & Review

Oh, and am I the only one totally infuriated by the new PrC format? I really don't think that anyone needs five or six pages devoted to each PrC. And what's up with the magic item descriptions? How blatant can padding be?

Re: Complete Mage Critique & Review

Ultimate Magus: Actually, if'n you pick up Practiced Spellcaster for your Sorcerer (preferably Beguiler) casting, then you end up Wiz 13/Sorc 9, which ain't bad for costing you two caster levels. Why is this not bad? It's not bad because of Augmented Casting, the class's only redeeming value and act...

Re: Complete Mage Critique & Review

Yeah, what the hell is up with these alternate class features that objectively weaken characters across the board in nearly every situation. The Dragonscale Husk one is a great example. I'm particulary fond of PHB2's shapeshift Druid variant. Let's see, I get something flat out weaker than wild shap...

Re: Druids make me cry - AKA WotC can't write rules

Why, oh why can't we just use regular old polymorph and shapechange and not worry about such things? Why do they have to keep introducing new "balanced'" rules that actually just suck in every way more than the originals?[br][br]Just power up the melee classes until they're competitive wit...

Re: Wizards admits Empty Levels are a problem...

Why won't WotC admit that certain classes are weak? Because it's almost impossible to comvince a large segment of the population that it's true. Just go look at the 80+ page threads on the WotC Classes forum dedicated to the enlightened trying to convince the masses that straight Fighter is weak com...

Re: Complete Mage Critique & Review

[br] It gives you 3 spells at first level. It gives 6 spells of each level in the long run. Does that sound familiar to you? It's the fvcking Sorcerer spellcasting progression. Except you get your new spell levels on time and you can still learn spells out of books. [br][br]I thought school speciali...

Re: Complete Mage Critique & Review

You'd be infuriated by how many people think the reserve feats are actually OVERpowered . They don't seem to realize the power loss represented by taking or using one of those feats.[br][br]BTW, the way to abuse Residual Metamagic is to use Shadowcraft Mage + Earth Spell. Cast a silent image heighte...

Re: Book of 9 swords review

Ah, I see what your criticism is about now. To be fair, the character (Sir Bamfsalot) was meant to be played starting at ECL 13, when he can get two full attacks in every other round. (He actually gets the third full attack at ECL 19, not 21. I presented the character at ECL 21 just for fun.) I don...
