Re: Simple Questions that can "defeat" RPG systems
This is not easily possible in Mage or Ars Magica, D&D, or SWSE. You underestimate the breadth of spells from D&D splats. Scholar's Touch was the first one that rose to my mind, which lets you skim textbooks in seconds. Amanuensis is useful for copying notes or even whole assignments. These...

The most obvious way is to trigger the ability at most once per round and increase the damage to compensate. Add in a save if you're concerned about the lack of counters for sonic. Something like: While active, your Master Fighting Style deals level*d6 sonic damage (Ref save half) to all creatures w...

I started banging out a Bear World hack where anyone can be the DM, partly in order to play it PbP: http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=54445 But I didn't care about it enough to actually get a group together and try it out, so... I played a few sessions (around a table, not PbP) back in 2016, though ...

There are a heck of a lot of templates that don't add any HD, but add power. The two Epic templates rise to mind as extreme outliers, but I'm sure you could find a lot more dumpster diving. There are some creatures that are fine-ish in the wild, but become extraordinarily dangerous if buffed by anot...

Oh yes, it was great as an epic action popcorn flick. There were a lot of dumb things that will pull you out if you think about them for a minute or two though. So, the way the time travel seems to work is that if you go to the past and change anything, it creates a new timeline branch. Anything tha...

This means that if you give +1 damage and +1 soak to both sides the amount of damage inflicted will be the same. That's actually not true. Part of the distribution gets cut off because damage taken cannot go below 0, creating a bias in the attacker's favor that increases the more dice are involved....

1) isn't sufficient unless fbmf also implements a filter or starts manually reviewing posts. And that might not even stop them being dragged to court to determine whether they were meeting the standard or not. 2) is the only sane option for vast swaths of the internet, including this site, and screw...

Wired's interpretation is more generous than the reality. Here's the actual text: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/A-8-2018-0245-AM-271-271_EN.pdf[/url], Chapter 2, Article 17]6. Can't say I've heard "ghost damnit" before erik said it in the other thread. If I had to guess, it might be drift from "gosh darnit," or it might be a reference to Magic Sky Ghost, or maybe a bit of both.

OK, so Hicks reminded me that this class exists, and looking back it is a bit embarrassing. I clearly had a weird fixation on swift actions, some of the abilities are either at an unusual level or favored a complicated solution when something simple would do. So I've made a few tweaks. The original ...

The challenges are a bit different depending on the number of players. The hand size limit is going to be much more of a hurdle with two players than with four, but you'll have fewer problems assembling cures. Your options for character upgrades and relationships will also be more limited, but you'l...

Actually, didn't Tolkien himself regret making orcs always evil and later wrote some stuff in which there were orcs that weren't evil? He changed his mind on orcs a few times. This is a decent rundown. tl;dr, his later writings described orcs as beasts shaped into a mockery of men and elves, with n...

edit: why do idiots put spaces in web adresses? There are encodings for characters that would cause trouble in a URL, like spaces or slashes. Spaces in particular are %20, so you could write the second URL like this and it will link correctly: https://legallabrador.org/california-turkey-hunting-sea...
